The WEA Omega Centre are celebrating their students’ achievements tomorrow – 10th July – and we are very pleased to be joining them as there is plenty to celebrate. This is just a small selection of the amazing ceramics our students have made so far:
The first courses to be held in the new Clay Station workshops at the Omega Centre are coming to a close this week. Students in the two daytime and one evening course have learned a variety of techniques to model, sculpt, pinch and coil the clay to create an impressive collection of objects. The objects have been fired and the process of glazing and finishing has started. There is just one more week to get everything completed! For most of the students this has been their first experience of working with clay but under the guidance of tutors Lyn and Ginny they have tackled each new process with enthusiasm. The results speak for themselves!
Three more courses are scheduled to start after Easter so if you’ve ever had an urge to work with clay then why not join us? It’s a great way to spend a few hours, learn a new skill, make new friends and even get rid of some stress! Throwing clay about can be very cathartic!
Full details of forthcoming courses can be found on our Courses page.
